Day 1 : Mandalay – Monywa (By Coach) After breakfast depart for Monywa about 85 miles (136 km) to the North-west of Mandalay. The town is the commercial centre for Indian trade. Bodhi-ta-taung (one thousand Bo trees), Alantaya Buddha Reclining Image, Thanbuddae Pagoda over 500,000 Buddha images, and Kyaukka village, known for its own distinctive kind of lacquer-ware making. Monywa sightseeing is not completed with a visit to Thanbuddae Pagoda, well-known for its architectural designs. The pagoda is situated within 7 miles South East of Monywa, Sagaing Division in Upper Myanmar-37 acres wide the square-shaped ground is surrounded by walls. It is clean and pleasant although the place is next to a dense mountain forest. Moe-Hnyin Sayadaw built the pagoda in 1937 and over night in Monywa.
