It is one of the most important prehistoric sites in Myanmar, estimated that the cave was used by primitive people between 10,000 and 15,000 years ago. In located 14 miles west of a town of Ywar Ngan. The cave is also situated 70 miles south east of Mandalay.
Drive to the town of Kume about 2 and half hours then another 30 minutes drive to King Tar Dam drive. Cross the lake by boat for about 15 minutes. Trek uphill to the cave in a middle of mountain about 50 minutes. Observe the prehistoric drawing pictures of animal and human subjects and weapons of the Stone Age.
Return to Mandalay in the evening. Characteristics of Padalin Cave Wildlife Sanctuary are to preserve Padalin cave stone age culture which is an oldest culture found in Myanmar, to conserve environs surrounding the cave, to make habitat for mammals like Wild Elephants, Gaur, Leopard, Banteng, Sambar, many species of monkeys and many species of birds like Wood-peckers, and jungle birds.
