One beach resort that has gained fame and popular since 1990 is the Chaungthar (Pleasant Stream) Beach Resort. Chaungthar beach is located 32 mile to the west of Pathein (Bassein) in Ayeyarwaddy Division. The best way to get to Chaungtha is by car from Yangon. About 4-hour drive from Yangon to Pathein for 115 mile through delta regions of Ayeyarwaddy division and Pathein to Chaung-thar takes about 2 hours. A regular double-decker boat leaves from Yangon about 4 pm every evening and reaches Pathein early in the next day. Due to the nearest and easiest accessible from Yangon, Chaungthar beach receives more local visitors annually.

Day 1 : Yangon- Chaung Thar
Our driver will meet you at your hotel and depart after breakfast. About 4 and half hour drive to Pathein. Cross Ayeyarwaddy River over Bo-Myat-Tun Bridge, second longest one in Myanmar 8544 feet. Proceed to Pathein. There is Pathein (Ngawun) River crossing over Pathein Bridge. It will take only an hour drive from Pathein river to beach.The road will be crossing over western mountain range about 1500 feet above sea level. 
 

Day 2 : Chaung Thar Beach
There is an opportunity to stroll along the seashore and visit nearby villages to sample the local cuisine, and buy trinkets and ornaments fashioned from sea shells, cowries, mother of pearl, huge rock-shrimp and crabs, fossilized marine flora and unusual coral formations etc. to take back as souvenirs or presents upon your departure.
 

Day 3 : Chaung Thar - Pathein - Yangon
 After lunch drive back to Yangon, on the way visit Pathein’s famous sights Shwemouthtaw Pagoda, Phaungdawoo Pagoda, traditional bamboo umbrella factory and the market.
