The Golden Boulder
An enchanting Journey into a land of fantasy, Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda (the Golden Rock) is in the area known in the ancient days as Thuwunnabhumi (the Golden Land).

Day 1 : Yangon - Bago - Kyaikhtiyo (Golden Rock)
After breakfast about 50 miles (80 km) drive to Bago, the ancient capital of Mon, known as Hanthawaddy, where one must visit the Kyaikpon Pagoda- 4 gigantic seated Buddha Image, Shwemawdaw Pagoda-the highest Pagoda in Myanmar, Shwethalyaung Pagoda- the oldest reclining Buddha image in Myanmar- 54 meter long and build in 994 A.D, the Mon village and Bago market. Then continue to the Golden Rock 62 mile (100 km) through the never ended paddy fields. Arriving at Kim-pun base camp at the beneath of the mountain and take a special mountaineering pick-up truck to get to Yathae Taung point (Hermit) and then hike for an hour to square of the Kyaikhtiyo Pagoda and overnight.

 

Day 2 : Kyaikhtiyo - Yangon
After strolling around the hill sites, return to base camp and drive back to Yangon.
