An ancient city of Mrauk-U in the western part of Myanmar
Mrauk-U, a fine last royal capital of Rakhine (1430 A.D) has scenic beauty and historical remains, which are inextricable and remarkable. As it is Mrauk-U is the ` youngest' of all cities in Rakhine, other Old cities are Dhanyawaddy (B.C 580) and Vesali (327 A.D). Innumerable pagodas belong to all ages can be found throughout the cities.
 

Day 1 : Yangon - Sittwe (By Flight)
Fly to Sittwe and arrive in the afternoon; sightseeing begins with Cultural Museum - the introduction to the geographical and cultural value of the area and Buddhist monastery to see the best collections of antique items of that region. Late in the afternoon visit the most famous pagoda `Pyi-lone-chan-tha' means everyone is wealthy and peaceful. In the evening stroll around the evening market near the harbour.

Day 2 : Sittwe - Mrauk U (By Boat)
After breakfast start a wonderful and slow half-day boat trip on the Kanladan River the way to Mrauk-U, past magical scenes of old Asia: Farmers plugging their farm with buffaloes, several fishing boats along the river, cutting a mass of green thatch and several villages & their way of life and more over a big number of Hansa or Bremeni ducks are swimming in the river. We will arrive at Mrauk U in the afternoon. Interesting Places in this area are The Sitthaung Pagoda (a commemoration of the successful defense against Portuguese attack in 1535 A.D), Andaw temple (an octagonal structure of pure sandstone), Dukkhanthein pagoda (the temple build of hewn sandstone and layers of bricks over the roof), Laymyetnta pagoda and sunset from a small hillock near Sitthaung pagoda and overnight at Mrauk U.

 

Day 3 : Dhanyawaddy & Vesali
Make morning sightseeing to Dhanyawaddy & Vesali old cities. In the afternoon, visit to Archaeological museum, Palace Excavation site, Pitakataik or the library build of stones in 1591 A.D, Bandoola Monastery and leisure or explore your-self among the temples and pagodas in the evening.
 

Day 4 : Mrauk-U – Sittwe (By Boat)
Return by boat to Sittwe along the same way, arrival in the late afternoon, check-in and leisure.
 

Day 5 : Sittwe – Yangon (By Flight)
Visit to Sittwe main market and in the afternoon flight back to Yangon.
